The dictionary defines commit in part as
1) To give in trust
2) To entrust
3) To bind........................
Have you committed yourself wholly to the Lord?
Do you completely trust His ways and actions, even
though you may not understand them?
Committing yourself to our loving Father is not part time.
Take a few moments, right now and

There are different kinds of gifts,
but the same Spirit distributes them.
1 Corinthians 12:4 (NIV)
What is your gift?
Music? Organization? Crafts? Writing?
Children? Cooking? Teaching? Praying?
Encouraging? Speaking? Caring? Witnessing?
Please don't ever think your gift is not worthy.......
If the gift is from our Loving Father, it is worthy!
It is worthy to thank and praise Him for the gift
He has given you!
.......But each man has his own gift from God: one has
this gift, another has that. 1 Corinthians 7:7 (NIV)
And don't ever think your gift is better than anyone else's!
Our gifts are different and are to be used for the Glory of God
and to spread His love and words.
Remember, Do not neglect your gift..... 1 Timothy 4:14 (NIV)
But Each one should use whatever gift he has received
to serve others....... 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

than attend church........you are putting sleep before God.
If you would rather possess the latest fashion/game/car/gadget
above helping the less fortunate.......you are putting things before God.
God must come first.....first above all, everyone, everything.
God is our treasure. Our heart is His.

The best way to do this?
Know your Bible.....read it, study it, meditate on His words

Someone once said you can evaluate a man's leadership by the number of his followers...........
I say that you evaluate a leader by determining how that leader follows God and God's ways.............
After all, Hitler had millions following him.

Hi Ladies,
Thanksgiving comes once a year...........but giving Thanks should come daily.
Tomorrow I will sit with the ones who matter most to me. I will miss my
bonus daughter, my brother Mike and his wonderful wife Vanetta, but I am
grateful they will be celebrating Thanksgiving with other loved ones.
For just another day with my loved ones, I am Thankful.................
For having things I once prayed for and for having what others do pray for, I am Thankful............
Not just on Thanksgiving, but everyday............
For the joys, and for the tears, He is with me, and I am Thankful............
For the trials, and tribulations, He is with me, and I am Thankful............

Hi Ladies,
Amen
A beautiful word.......
A Hebrew word.
The word Amen means so be it.
Amen is a solemn word that confirms a statement, oath, or covenant.
"and may this water that causes the curse go into your stomach, and make
your belly swell and your thigh rot." 'Then the woman shall say, "Amen, so be it.
Numbers 5:22 (NKJV)
We may close our prayers with the words "In Jesus Name we pray. Amen."
In other words, we are submitting to God's will.........not our own.
How many of us have thought that God didn't hear our prayers, or that He didn't
answer them?
God answers our prayers in one of three ways............
Yes......Because the prayer lines up with His will.
No.......Because the prayer doesn't line up with His will.
Not now.......Because we are not ready.
When we pray and get a "No" for the answer, trust God. Trust His will for the
situation. We don't get to see the big picture, but God does.
Trust Him.
He is the Great Amen.

Back in the day, there was a comedian named Flip Wilson
who had the catch of "The devil made me do it!"................
It was perceived as funny, but what it ultimately did was
take away the responsibility of making bad decisions.
"You lied about that"......."Not my fault, the devil made me do it!"
"You went and got drunk"......."The devil made me do it!"
"You stole money from the company"......The devil made me do it!"
Our society continues to find ways for us to accept the devil and his
evil ways. Think of music, clothing, games, slang, attitudes, entitlements,
self serving, books, movies....Me, my wants, my needs, my everything.
Resist....all temptations from the devil.
Know God's words, feel His love, know that His will for you is best for you.
Resist the devil............

Hi Ladies,
If you had 15-20 minutes to be with someone who God
has taken..........
Who would it be? What would you say? What would you
do? And how would you be afterwards?
For me, it would be my mother. I would tell her that I knew
her hatred and abuse towards me was misdirected and I would
let her know that I have forgiven her and that I had asked God
to forgive her also.
Afterwards, I would let what few good memories prevail over
the other ones.
Now think of someone you need to say something to......
Perhaps you need to tell them you love them, you appreciate them,
or you need to tell someone that they have hurt you and that you
have forgiven them.
Tell them before the opportunity is gone.......and pray for them......

emotionally, and spiritually. Please show those
who have survivors guilt, that their time is needed here.

Hi Ladies,
pray continually.........1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NIV)
Most people pray at night, right before going to sleep........
Very few pray in the morning because they are getting ready
for work, helping the kids get ready for school.......then there
are errands, housework.....it is simply a time to rush.
Yet we are commanded
pray continually.............
Set your alarm 10 minutes earlier....Take the time to thank
God for a good night's sleep, for keeping your family, friends,
and loved ones safe. Ask Him to continue to keep everyone
safe and to guide them in His path. Ask Him to use you in
whatever way glorifies Him.
Make games of prayer with your children.....
When your daughter picks a red dress to wear, think of red
things God created and thank Him for them.
Convert the dates of birthdays and anniversaries to time and
pray for that person or couple. For instance, at 8:04 I pray for
my husband, at 1:19 I pray for my daughter, 1:13 for my son-in-law,
and at 5:10 for my bonus daughter.
Use your time for prayer.....
When in line at the store/bank/DMV or wherever, rather than whipping
out your phone to check your email/social media/game, silently pray for
the person in front of you, pray for the cashier......Ask God to help them
with whatever cross they are carrying, to give them strength, love. Ask
our Father to give you words of encouragement to them.
There are many times and ways to pray to our Father.
We can pray continually!

Hi Ladies,
..........not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of
doing, but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see
the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25 (NIV)
With school out, summer in, and vacations on.......our routines so
often go by the wayside.
Unfortunately, some take this 'break' to play 'hit or miss' with church.
The reasoning can be as benign as "the attendance is low, so no one
will really miss us"....."there's no Sunday School for the children, it's
too hard to keep them still".....Pastor is on vacation, so the message
won't be solid".......
Yes, during the summer, church attendance is lower when families are
on vacation. Remember Matthew 18:20....For where two or three come
together in My name, there I am with them. (NIV)
Keeping children still during the service can be challenging, but as long
as they aren't distracting to other congregants, they're fine. On occasion
I would take my daughter to the cry room, during the sermon. It was important
to me that she knew at an early age that the sanctuary is God's house and not
a playroom. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder
them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 9:14 (NIV)
Of course Pastors take vacations! We need to refresh and recharge our batteries!
Many of us have favorite pastors........Pastors who speak the true word of God......
Pastors we respect, admire, and look up to. We may use that Pastor as the reason
we attend a certain church. Remember, we attend church because we want and need
to hear the true words of God, to thank Him and to Praise Him.

Hi Ladies,
Money....money.....money......
Something we need to pay our mortgages or rent.......
food, clothing, medical.......essentials, and extras.
We need money....we needn't worship it.
How can we tell the difference between the need
of money and the worship of it?
Ask yourself these questions..........
Do I tithe as the Word of God instructs?
Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields
produce each year. Deuteronomy 14:22 (NIV)
Or do I pay my bills, make sure I have enough for
the weekend's festivities before tithing?
Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob Me. "But
you ask, 'How are we robbing You?' "In tithes and
offerings." Malachi 3:8 (NIV)
We need to remember.......Tithing is an act of faith.
God doesn't need our money;
He wants our love and obedience.
When we tithe, we are putting God first, our own
needs second because we know He will provide.
In fact, tithing is the only thing God tests us on
Continuing with Malachi 3:10
Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there
may be food in My house. And thereby put me to
the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the
windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a
blessing until there is no more need.
Tithing is putting God first
He should always be first.

One of the hardest thing about being a Christian is being “Christ-like.”

We are often watched, tested, and challenged……..
Is she going to lose her temper? Will she complain about her husband?
Is a lie coming from her lips? She boasts about her pie baking ribbons….
She was rather haughty to the sales clerk……………
At times, we fail.
We fail to rise up to Christ-like behavior.
When that happens, apologize.
Ask for forgiveness and understanding.
And pray to our loving Father,
Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10 (NIV)
Each time you realize you have not lived up to being a Christ-like Christian,
and with His help, you change that UN-Christ-like behavior, you are getting
closer to Him and His will for you.

Hi Ladies,
Taken from my husband Steve's prayer on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the long term
care facility where we conduct services every Sunday.
Lord -
We want to thank You and praise You - from whom all blessings flow.
Today we need to stop and reflect on exactly what You did for us and the significance of it.
Lord, You died for us while we were STILL sinners!
It is hard enough to die for a righteous person - though many will be willing to sacrifice -
but how many of us would be willing to die for an UNrighteous person?
Yet, this is what You did.
Romans 5:7-9 (NIV)
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone
might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we
were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by His blood, how
much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through Him!
So Lord, on this special day, we want to stop, pause, and give You all the praise and glory
and thanks for having walked what must have been the most difficult path into a city that
was welcoming You with open arms and laying palm branches at Your feet and who in less
than one week would be screaming "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!"
Lord - we are sorry that You - Who knew no sin - had to suffer and die for us who deserved it!
It is only by Your sacrifice for our sins that we have hope to enter into Your glorious presence.
Lord - help us recognize our sins and shortcomings. Help us to forgive others so that we might
be forgiven ourselves. Help us to remember that without You, we are nothing! Help us to walk
in faith and obedience to YOUR perfect law.

In 1979, while excavating a site in Jerusalem’s Hinnom Valley,
several tiny, silver scrolls, the size of the metal cap of a pencil,
were found.
These tiny scrolls, dated back to the seventh century B.C. contained
the words to Numbers 6:24-26.
These Biblical words have been set to music many times. I remember
singing them at my Grandparent’s church in Wisconsin.
My husband closes our Services with these same words and what
comforting peace it gives.

The above acts of the flesh are too strong for us to conquer. However, with God’s

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your
body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your
heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of
you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6:25-27 (NIV)
It is so easy to say to someone “Don’t worry. It will be fine.”
Kind words to say, but take it a step further and give some comforting action.
Are they hungry? Invite them over to eat, bring them some casseroles, share your gardening

Hi Ladies,
You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. Titus 2:1 (NIV)
There are quite a few people who believe sound doctrine is out of touch,
old fashion, not relevant today. They also believe you must feel good to be
good…..to go with the flow…..not hurt, or offend anyone.
That is wrong.
Sound doctrine means knowing how and why we need to live in accordance
to God’s words.
How do we know God’s sound doctrine verses the doctrine others may be
spouting?
Read your Bible. If what someone is saying is not in accordance to God’s teaching,
if it is not biblical, it is not sound doctrine.
Know your Bible. If someone is eliminating God’s words, or changing them, they are
not teaching sound doctrine.
For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the
least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is
accomplished. Matthew 5:18 (NIV)
If something cannot be backed up with God’s words, be it a sermon, a teaching, or
a book, it is not sound doctrine.
Live your earthly life for Him, in accordance to His doctrine and you will be spending
your eternal life with Him.

As Christians, we don't know all the answers. Some
of us aren't very good at memorizing verses. Many
can't pronounce most Biblical names, cities, or places.
When we are asked about our faith, it is because the
person asking sees something in us.....something they
are trusting you to answer.
It's rather simple.
Start here..............
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and
only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish
but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV)
Be the child of God He intends you to be. Let Him speak
through you.
Be gracious, patient, and loving......but more importantly,
listen to their questions and concerns. Perhaps they don't
feel loved, or maybe a sin is eating away at them.
Pray with them. It means so much more to pray right at
that moment, rather then saying "I'll pray for you."
Cultivate, not overwhelm.
As my husband Steve says, "You may not be the one to
fully bring them to Christ, but you will be the one who
brings them that much closer."

Hi Ladies,
Hate.........
One of the most unattractive qualities in a person.
Hate.........
A powerful emotion we as Christians should avoid.
Or should we?
Is there a way we can use the power of hate?
Yes! We can use hate to the Glory of God!
As it is written in the first part of Amos 5:15.......
Hate evil, love good; (NIV)
What exactly is evil?
Evil is the absence of good, just like dark is the absence
of light, and cold is the absence of heat.
Our loving Father gave us the freedom to choose good
or evil (i.e. not good).
We must do our best to always choose good.
How do we know what is good? Love our Lord, read His
words, know His ways, follow Him.
We can hate all that is not good.....all that is not pleasing
to God.
But our hate must be shown in a loving manner because
1 John 4:7 states
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (NIV)
When someone we love and know is doing something outside
of good (i.e. evil), it is our duty to pray for them, and encourage
them to do what is pleasing to God (i.e. good).

Hi Ladies,
Well, here I grow again!
For the past several weeks my husband and I had been reading out loud to one another the first two
Harry Potter books. We even purchased the first two DVD's and watched them.
Pastor Steve and I love doing things together...be it refinishing a desk, yard work, studying the Word (especially!),
or taking long walks...reading to each other was just yet one more way to joyfully spend time together...
Except, once we embarked on this seemingly innocent adventure, we were strongly nudged by the Holy Spirit that this activity, while on the surface appeared totally innocent, was nevertheless outside God's desire
for us.
There is a slippery slope satan likes to use...on the surface, the Harry Potter books are highly entertaining,
full of adventure, with humor, and having incredible characters and amazing creatures - fantasy novels millions of children and adults have read.
But...these "fantasy" novels delve into the dark arts...death, abuse, spells, witchcraft, wizardry, charms, immortality, and magic... The two Harry Potter books I read were entertaining...and I believe myself to be a strong enough Christian to not delve into the dark arts...
However...the first wave of Harry Potter readers are now adults...adults who are watching Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, among the many other shows/movies that glorify the supernatural and dark arts.......
If television, movies, and/or books aren't enough of a fill, one can be entertained by magicians like Criss Angel, David Blaine, or participate in either the Zombie Run or any of the Zombie Games (for children, teens, and adults!).
Can you recognize the slippery-slope? Always, one step at a time...each step on its own, is no big deal. However, these steps add up, and taken collectively can lead one FAR off the path of our Lord!
With the Lord's help and His strength, Steve and I are off that slippery slope...(make no mistake, satan creates many slippery slopes and prepares many pit-falls and snares)...
The books we've decided to read together instead? The Left Behind Series!

with love.
Our Father is always with us! He is our strength, our rock.
Know His words, meditate on them and lean on Him for
strength.

He wants what is best for you.

I read an article that stated "If you believe that Jesus is

I believe that.........But I also believe the Bible is the Word
of God.......and we need to obey His words and His commands.
In order to do that, we need to know His words, read them,
meditate on them, put His words in action.
We need to pray, talk to Him, listen for His directions, wait for
His will to be done.
Glorify Him..........
Praise Him..........
Thank Him..........
Love Him............
There is a difference between a Christian who simply believes,
and a Christian who puts our Holy Father in our heart and actions.

It may be that you are trying to walk with God on
your own two feet?, with your own strengths and

We need Our Father all the time. He is our strength.

Dear Lord,
Thank You for a good night's sleep......
I especially thank You for keeping my husband and all our children
tucked safely in Your loving arms throughout the night.
Please continue to bless and keep our family.......
Although there are times we have aches and pains, we will gladly
bear these pains, for they glorify our need for You.
Direct us Lord in using our tithes wisely. There are many people, groups,
and organizations that have needs and we would like to honor You by
gifting them.
Forgive us Lord for not speaking boldly and directly when the world started
to fall little by little.
Please Lord, grant me the words, knowledge and mostly the love, to bring
the lost to you. Help me catch those on the fence. Show me the wisdom in
not wasting time on those who have chosen the other side. Time is a gift.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.
We are to do as instructed in Proverbs 24:11 (NIV)
Rescue those being led away to death;

How can we rescue those?
Pray....Pray.....and pray some more..........
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.
On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

Be involved......
Volunteer at your local Pregnancy Counseling Center.
Become the Pro-Life contact person for your church.
Invite a Pro-Life speaker to your church/bible study.
Host a baby shower.
Picket an abortion clinic.
Raise money/give financial support to a Pro-Life group.
Boycott groups that support Planned Parenthood/Pro-Choice agenda
Mostly, as commanded in Matthew 22:39 (NIV)

I challenged our congregants to pray for one month,
for one or two people who have hurt/upset/angered/
disappointed or somehow failed them............
to pray for them.
To pray for their well being........
To pray that God has a protective arm around them........
To pray their hearts are softened...........
To pray they find and truly know and love our Father..........
As we know, it is easy to pray for those we love.........

This challenge has nothing to do with New Years Resolutions,

The first week of the New Year!

be more loving/patient, spend more time with the family.......
volunteer more.......
These are all wonderful goals, but please keep in mind

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you.
Make the promise to yourself and our Father, that you will
spend valuable time with Him.......
Reading His words, talking with Him, honoring Him, following
His ways, commands, and decrees, loving Him and giving
Him thanksgiving............
By doing these things, you will find the resolutions you have
made..........will happen........

till it came and stood over where the young Child was.

Like most people, I love Christmas music!......not necessarily the
secular holiday music, although I have been guilty of "Rockin'
Round the Christmas Tree" on more than a few occasions.
The one Christmas song that always gives me goose bumps, brings
me to tears and swells my heart is O Holy Night.
Just the title alone says it all.
..............O Holy Night..................
Placide Cappeau, (1808-1877) a French poet and wine merchant was
asked to write a Christmas poem. He wrote Christians, Midnight. In
1847, Adolphe Adam (1803-1856) composed the music for that poem.
Unitarian minister and transcendentalist John Sullivan Dwight (1813-
1893) created Christians, Midnight into the English singing edition
known as O Holy Night.
On the evening of December 24, 1906, Handel's Aria "Ombra mai fu was
the first piece of music played on the radio. O Holy Night followed. It was
played on a violin by the "Father of Radio Broadcast" Reginald Fessenden,
with him singing the last verse

I absolutely love how Our Father chose a wine merchant, a poverty stricken
composer, a Liberal Unitarian, and an inventor to give us one of the most

Hi Ladies,
The Lord has been wonderful and so very active in our lives!
Several weeks ago, our ministry www.basicessentials.org was
granted a 501 (c) (3) status.
Through Basic Essentials, in addition to conducting regular church
services at a long term care facility, we have also been blessed to
sponsor several other ministries.........
A young man who started a Bible study in his high school. It's
a very fun, great group of our next generation, and is growing
strong with 40 members!
A lovely young woman who has struggled both financially and
personally to become a missionary in her home country of the
Philippines. She is a witness to how God has provided for her
needs and the needs of her group.
Recently, we were gifted with several books from a gentleman who
once struggled with his demons, and with the power of God, came
out the winner!
One of the books contains hymns and songs, and the inspirations for
each one. From time to time I will share a song and the story behind it.
This is not one of those times.
One of the most important ways to Glorify our Father is to do good works.........
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph. 2:10 (NIV)
Yes, we are told to do good, to love one another.........
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you,
so you must love one another. John 13:34 (NIV)
When others witness, hear or are the recipients of our love and goodness,
it inspires them to love and to do good!
That is what we want; to inspire others to grow in love, goodness and to
learn about God's grace.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from
yourselves, it is the gift from God--not by works, so that no one can boast.
Eph. 2:8-9 (NIV)
Do good works lovingly, be an inspiration.

We may look around and see the happiness and gladness
of those who only feel joy, while our hearts are in pain..........

When we love our Lord above all, when we meditate on His
words, follow His commands and decrees, the desires of our
heart are aligned with what He desires for us.
Keep growing in your love for our Father and He will give you

and I have been complacent.....We've hidden our light,

It's not enough.
There are so many ways to obey our Father,

During a drive.........
At the red light...glance at the car either next to you,
behind you, or in front of you......Ask God to be with them.........
When you see a car weaving in and out of traffic....ask God
to give them protection and patience..........
In a waiting room.......instead of playing games on a cell phone, or
checking your social media....pray for the others waiting....that God
give them health and peace.....That the doctors and nurses are kind
and encouraging.......
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

It takes but a moment to say "Thank you Lord, for all You
have given me, and all that You have not given me"........
It takes but a moment to say "Lord, please be with them,

Hi Ladies,
Almost all of us have 1 or 2 people we would rather
not have anything to do with........
Maybe they have wronged us in some way, betrayed,
hurt, or slighted us.
Perhaps we find them hard to be around.....They may be
gossips, pessimists, grumblers, or just plain difficult............
Could be, they are sinners......adulterers, drunkards, liars,
coveters, or cheaters..........
How fair are we when we would rather not have anything to
do with someone who does the above?
At one time or another, we have all been the person someone
would rather not have anything to do with..........
I know I have wronged someone, I know (at times) I can be hard
to be around.......and I am certainly a sinner.............
So pray for the 1 or 2 people.....not once, not twice, but continually.........
Forgive them........Ask our Father to forgive them..........
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have
against one another.
Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Col. 3:13 (NIV)
With God's help, with continual prayer, and with a loving heart, you
will see them as a child of God, someone He loves, another person
Jesus died and was resurrected for.............
Love them.....even if it's from a distance.
To God be the Glory!

Hi Ladies,
For the Lord gives wisdom,
and from his mouth come knowledge

Following our Lord's laws, commands, and
ways takes a spiritual, emotional, and physical
commitment.
We need to take time.....time away from the
television, time away from the computer, time away
from sleep, and time away from activities that distract
us from our Father.
Does this mean giving up everything fun for the Lord?
No.......but if you give up one half hour of television or
computer time to study His word, you will begin to gain
knowledge and understanding.
If you give up 20 minutes of sleep to pray and talk to our
Father, you will gain more rest with His love and grace in
your life.
As you get more into the word of God, as you feel His presence
more, the distractions of the world will slip away from your life.
One of the benefits of a commitment to the Lord, is that you will
understand the slippery-slope of satan's power.
Listen, my son, and be wise,
and keep your heart on the right path. Proverbs 23:19 (NIV)

Like many of you, I am blessed with getting older........
I don't care for the fact that I am looking older, or
that some things are physically a bit more difficult........
But I love that God has given me an incredible life!
With the valleys and peaks He has blessed me with,
I have been able to experience His love, grace, gifts,
forgiveness, and abilities.
As I am getting older, I am more excited about His promises.........
I want to spend as much time and energy serving Him as I can.
I want others to know Him......to love Him......to accept Him.
However............
I am noticing more and more, that the older generation is being
dismissed, ignored, or treated like a child. I have witnessed this
happening in shops, offices, and even churches.
While there is still breath in any of us, we are still being used in
God's plans and for His glory!
Seek out an older person, get to know them, learn about their
life experiences, their peaks and valleys......
In doing so, I promise you; another person will feel the love you
have for Christ.
Be good.
Be kind.
Love one another.

We all have experienced the death of a loved one.
Some have been chosen to deal with the sudden/unexpected
death of a loved one.
Some have been chosen to deal with the death of someone we
felt was taken too soon.
Our loving Father has a purpose for all of us, for all our lives.
He knew us before we were born...........
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in Your book
before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:16 (NIV)
God has plans for each and everyone of us............
Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Prov. 19:21 (NIV)
We don't get to see the "big picture" to help explain the deaths
of the innocent, the young...........the ones taken too soon...........
But, hard as it can be at times, we do get to give praise to God!
I will praise You as long as I live,
and in Your name I will lift up my hands. Psalm 63:4 (NIV)
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 2 Cor. 1:3 (NIV)

Pray, praise, and thank Him for all He gives.
Lean wholly on the Lord, and you will find comfort, hope, and peace.

I have one such person.
She's a middle-aged woman who has had a difficult life......She has the mind of a 10 year old, the curiosity of a scientist, the attitude of a leader, and the heart of a mother hen. She is a wonderful child of the Lord, with a child-like faith......completely trusting Him, knowing, without a doubt, His love, His death on the cross for our sins, His resurrection, and His coming.
She sings hymns with glee and gusto, a beat behind, and always off key......
Worship the Lord with gladness, come before Him with joyful songs. Psalm 100:2 (NIV) She has been a blessing in my life. She believes I am there to teach her, but in reality, she is the one who teaches me...........With her, I am reminded of Matthew 18:3 (NIV) And He said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
Thank you Lord, for this child, my true sister in Christ.

Hi Ladies,
Worship the Lord with gladness;

There are so many wonderful songs praising
our Lord!
Sing praises to God, sing praises,
sing praises to our King, sing praises.
Psalm 47:6 (NIV)
Many of the songs praising our Father, are
centuries old.......I remember singing quite
a few of them with my grandparents at their
country church in Wisconsin............
Several of the old hymns were in my repertoire
of songs I used when I would cradle and soothe
my daughter..........
There is a wonderful comfort and immediate
lift in spirits when singing praises to the Lord........
But...........
Beware of the constant repetition of melodic phrases.......
It can have the same hypnotic effect used in certain
meditations.....a type of mind alteration that can put
one in a state of vulnerability to suggestions.............
Music is one of the most precious gifts from God............
but it can also be used as an instrument from satan.

Hi Ladies,
Honor God in all you do.......
Every day we are faced with choices........
Some choices are are pretty simple..........
What to wear, what to buy, planning our day.......
For the most part, we don't really give alot of thought
on what we wear......we have closets and drawers full of
clothes. Most of our clothes we bought ourselves because
we liked them, they fit fine, and they are somewhat flattering
without being immodest. We may also have clothes our family
has bought us as gifts. I am blessed that my husband and daughter
know my style and respect what I prefer. Like many of you, I don't own any
clothes that show too much skin, are too tight, nor do I own any tee-shirts
that have inappropriate sayings, advertisements, or images/pictures. In this
way I honor God. When I am in traffic and deal with drivers who are distracted,
speeding, being reckless, rude, or unaware.....rather than being victim to "road rage",
I tend to slow down, let the other driver go and ask God to take care of them, to help
alleviate whatever is burdening them to cause them behave in such a way. In this
way I honor God. When feeling stressed, fatigued, strained........and wanting to
lash out in anger, I may do so for a moment.....and feel utterly defeated
because that behavior does not honor God. And I repent, and pray
and I know that I always need Him. I am not perfect...No Christian
is...But by constantly being aware of Him, His commands,
His words, we can strive to Honor God in all we do.

Hi Ladies,
Forgiveness..........
As Christians, we grasp the idea of forgiveness, but not necessarily
the entire act or heartfelt action of forgiving others...........
We are told in Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind and compassionate
to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God
forgave you. (NIV)
It is so easy and human to seek revenge, to hold grudges, to want to
"pay back" a wrong.
As Christians we have to take the right-eous road and do as God has commanded.....forgiving each other......
Trust me, it isn't always easy to forgive someone.
Back in 1989, a very good friend of mine had been brutally beaten into
a coma, never to awaken and was dead 7 weeks later.
When the trial was over, and the sentence was given, my friend's 83 year
old mother told me that she had forgiven the murderer.
I was rather surprised........I mean, she actually forgave the man who viciously
beat her son to death.......It took me a few minutes to let that sink in............
She said to me "I have to forgive. This is what God commands. I have loved
and trusted God all my life, I'm not going to let him (the murderer) take that
away. I will see my son again."
Since then, I have taken Mrs. Dorman's approach to forgiveness........
They have already hurt/wronged me.....I am not going to let them do so
anymore. God has commanded we forgive. Matthew 6:14 states "For if
you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father
will also forgive you." (NIV)
When you forgive them, ask our Father to also forgive them.

Hi Ladies,
Today is Independence Day.
A day we celebrate The Declaration of Independence and the
freedoms in and of our country.
A day that is filled with family, friends, picnics, barbeques, games,
food, parades, laughter, love, sparklers, and fireworks..............
Radio personality Rush Limbaugh mentioned a letter General
Anthony Wayne wrote to General George Washington concerning
a battle fought............
"Your men and officers behaved like men determined to be free."
As a Christian, I find we are celebrating fewer freedoms..........
We Christians are being bullied and attacked by our leaders, the
media, and fellow Americans.
Because we believe Jesus is our Lord and Savior......we are considered
narrow minded........
Because we follow the Bible, we are considered bigots and haters.......
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matt. 5:10 (NIV)
There is a part of me that believes in our country, but this country is not my
forever home.
I wholly love, believe, and trust in God our Father and in my eternal home.
When I think of General Wayne's comment, I wonder how many of my
brothers and sisters in Christ are behaving like people determined to
keep Christ and His commands number one................

glorify with our gifts and talents will show
where we are in our walk...........

Hi Ladies,
How many of us only go to the Lord when there is
some type of crises or a need we can't handle?
I have gone to the Lord with many concerns and issues.......
But at times, I have been guilty of not going to Him on
smaller issues......I take the "I got this one, Lord" attitude.
God cares about our little difficulties as well as our heart
wrenching ones.
We need to make the conscious effort to need the Lord
for all things, at all times! If we don't, there is the danger
that we become self-reliant and seek humanistic answers
to our problems and our day to day activities.
Trust in Him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to Him,
for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8 (NIV)
Giving Him all our cares and concerns, lets Him know where
our faith and hope lies...........

Hi Ladies,
We are a variety of women, in various stages in our lives, having gone through,
or are going through challenges, lessons and gifts our Lord intends for us.................
Some are going through incredible difficulties in marriages....some have
had to make the painful decision to end the bond of marriage................
Perhaps the need of prayer for forgiving another, rebuilding a friendship
on a level that hadn't been anticipated...............
Some are guiding the youngest of children.....making the decisions for their
upbringing through God's love and our own, through laughter, pain and
security......
Some are watching older children/young adults navigate the world and all that
life is offering. The need to step back, continue to pray and to know that our Lord
is with them.
Some have gone through the most devastating of challenges, the loss of a loved
one......whether it be a child, a husband, a sibling, or a beloved parent.....the loss
and loneliness encircle.........yes, Lord be willing, we will be reunited one day.........
the reunion for eternity..........Blessed be the Lord!
For those going through the feast.........Be strong, stay on the path, for this is when
complacency can set in and spiritual attacks can enter..........
Before I write Prayers, Thoughts, Encouragement..........I pray.........
I pray for each and everyone of you...........your struggles, your circumstances, your health,

Hi Ladies,
We all know that children are such natural mimics..........
Not only do they listen to our words, they pick up on the tone
and sincerity of what we say.
How many times have they heard us say to someone "I'll pray
for you".....but our children never hear us pray for that person.
Not only do they watch our actions, they pick up on the subtlety
and nuances of what we do.
How many times have we expressed a little road impatience, the
tightening of the lips, the "momitude".
We teach our children from 3 John 11............
Dear Friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone
who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil
has not seen God.
We are the best example not only to our children, but to our husbands,
family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, and strangers.
Let us be the women God intended us to be.......For Him, our husbands,
our children, and all whose paths we cross.
Let them mimic us being imitating what is good....because what is good
is from God.

Good morning Ladies,
A new year!
A fresh start!
Create in me a pure heart, O God,

I no longer make resolutions..........In the past when I
have made them, they've been pretty much the same
year after year.....lose a few pounds, eat healthier, be
better organized, exersize more............
For years, on January 1st, those were my resolutions.
And I never was able to accomplish any of these goals
to a consistent, satisfying completion...........
Why not? Well, my heart wasn't into it. It really didn't
matter to me if I were a few pounds over the ideal weight,
or if it took me longer to find things in my house, or if I
snacked on ice cream and chocolate.......Of course I did fine
for awhile, but ultimately, I was set up to fail to some degree.
Now, my concern, my goal, my priority, is Glorifying our Father!
Daily I ask Him to guide me, lead me, to create in me a clean heart...........
Daily I read His word......to know His guidance, to know where He leads me.
Daily I thank Him.........Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name:
make known among the nations what He has done. 1 Ch. 16:8 (NIV)
Daily I praise Him through words, songs, and actions........I will proclaim
the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! Dt. 32:6 (NIV)
Always, I talk with Him.............pray continually; 1Th. 5:17 (NIV)
My heart, and soul are in this.....I won't fail.........I've got Him.

Good morning Ladies,
Such a glorious day the Lord has given us!
Whatever He has planned for us, whatever comes our way,
accept it in a way He would be proud; give credit to Him,
and give thanks to our Father!
As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people.
Gal. 6:10 (NIV)
This is the season we are clamored into buying the best
and giving to the unfortunate.
What a see-saw to ride!
But knowing the most important gift we have already been
given........and knowing the things our Father wants from
us, we can achieve a satisfying balance.
Most families have a gift-giving budget and system.........
Some families give only to the children and not the adults,
some draw names, some have a price limit, some prefer
only homemade crafts and goodies.
Steve and I give our young adult "kids" 3 gifts.......
a want, a need, and something to remind them of God's
love for them.
And, as our family tradition, we give to charities that share
the Gospel......Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Child,
World Vision,.......amongst others. I know many of you do the
same.......and having our children contribute with this type of
tradition, helps them grow and mature as young Christians.
Letting them decide whether to buy chickens or a goat for
a family, picking out what to put in a shoebox, or "adopting"
a local family teaches them that
Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of
mine, you did for me. Matt 25:40 (NIV)
Don't stop there!
The gift of a smile, a kind word, a helping hand to a stranger,
goes a long way during this hustle-bustle time.

We are in such a glorious position!
As women, the good Lord has gifted
us with the task of "setting the tone"
.....for our husbands, our children,
friends, neighbors, and of course
the strangers God puts in our path!
How many of us have heard the phrase
"If Mom's not happy, no one is happy"?
How true that can be!
Our attitude is infectious to the people we
love, like, and everyone else around us......
Let's put our attitude to good use!
Everyday wake up with gladness in your
heart........
This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Good afternoon Ladies,
It is normal to have a bit of strife in our lives...........
But what happens when that strife causes division
within our community of fellow Christians?
How we handle this particular strife with fellow believers,
with people we consider to be our Brothers and Sisters
in the Lord, will determine the outcome of not only our
churches, but our communities and our country.
Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that
God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God
will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that
temple. 1 Cor. 3:16-17 (NIV)
We are God's temple............In growing our maturity in Christ,
there should be no division, no destruction.......
By knowing God's words, following His instructions, relying
totally on Him, we become more aware of ego driven leaders,
and those who put their own agenda before the good of God.
Don't put up with egotistical, childish games.....don't put up
with prideful false teachings.
Be strong in your conviction, be strong in His word.
We are His temple! Give thanks for His glorious works!

Spiritual warfare doesn't last very long with
strong Christians............Why is that?
Well, a strong Christian is a mature Christian.........
And a mature Christian is one who knows God
and follows Him and continues to grow.
How does one know God? By reading the Bible,
seeking His truths and following His directions.

Good morning Ladies,
What a blessing to be a woman in Christ!
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever
is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -------
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy ------- think about such things.
Phil. 4:8 (NIV)
That sounds easy enough, but because we are filled with sin, thoughts of
temptation or discouragement can slip into our daily lives.
How do we combat this?
One way is by making the conscious choice to always praise the Lord!
Sing uplifting songs! Count your blessings! Reach out to someone and
share the Good News!
Mostly...............
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of
the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Col. 3:17 (NIV)
Seriously......
Praising Him, thanking Him, sharing Him, obeying Him, and loving Him,
..........will keep you on the right path, and temptation/discouragement at bay.

With all our activities....housework, children,
work, errands, cooking, cleaning, chauffering.........
With all our wifery/mothering/friendshipping..........
listening, sharing, consoling, laughing, crying.........
We are busy.....
Please take the time to be still, trust in Him,
see and hear the gifts He has blessed us with
and know He is God.
Listening to Him gives us the direction and help
in knowing His will for us.

Good morning Ladies,
I have had many discussions with men and
women concerning the Bible.....The who's,
where's, the parables, the commandments...............
But one thing I continually remind people........
We can't pick and choose what to believe and
what to follow in the Bible.............................
For example..........
"Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ
is the head of the church, His body, of which He
is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ,
so also wives should submit to their husbands in
everything". Eph. 5:22-24 (NIV)
This is just one aspect of God's words where we
must be examples to our daughters, to our sisters
in Christ, and especially to those who "pick and choose"
what to believe and what to follow in the Bible.
When we obey God's words.......When we respect our
husbands, we are giving testimony to the power and
grace of God.
I am proud of my husband, Steve. Because he is a
man of God, a mature Christian, and because he follows
"husbands love your wives, just as Christ loved the church
and gave himself up for her", Eph 5:25 (NIV),
I have absolutelyno problem being a submissive wife.

Good morning Ladies,
Almost every night I make a list of
things I need to do for the next day.
I started this system years ago to help
my daughter become more organized........
Figured demonstrating was better than lecturing..........
She watched carefully as I would go through my morning.........
crossing off item after item on my list.......I thought perhaps
she would start her own list and feel the pride of finishing
a job well done!........Until she read my list over and saw I had
listed........ 1) Get up, 2) Talk to God, 3)Wash face/brush teeth,
4) Have coffee, 5) Make bed, 6) Get dressed........I had listed
small, natural items on my list, along with the larger, more difficult,
and some downright unpleasant items. Usually not everything would
get crossed off the list, but alot certainly would. And what a glorious
feeling to have a full day of accomplishments!
Now when I write my list, I keep in mind
Proverbs 16:9 (NASB)
The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
With this Proverb in mind, I tell the Lord "Here's what I was planning
to do.......If you have something else for me, just let me know and
give me the strength..........'Because no matter, it's all for your Glory!

How I enjoy reading the Word of God!
Like many, I have surrounded myself with
daily devotionals, bible verses flashcards,
flip calendars with encouragements, and
more.......I love being enveloped in His Word!
My favorite time of day is lunch with my husband.
We share a wonderful meal, read our daily devotions,
and do our "Read the Bible in a Year" program together!
It is so wonderful and important for Steve and I to pray, read,
meditate and study the Word together..........
My pray for all of you.....................
Be in His word alone with Him and be
in His word with those He has gifted you.
After all,
Two are better than one because they have a good return for their
labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion.
But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.
Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can
one be warm alone? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two
can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.

Autumn is beginning to arrive!

Sometimes it is difficult to go to our Father for every little
problem or situation that comes our way.......I am guilty
of keeping small problems for myself and telling God "It's
okay....I got this one.".......Nothing is too big or small for
our Father. We need to remember that once we give our
problems or situations to Him, to not try to take them back.
Our Father wants us to look to Him first....know His word....
follow His instructions....and apply them to our situations
in His Glory.

Good morning Ladies,
This is the day the Lord had made;
rejoice and be glad in it! Psalm 118:24
One of my wonderful friends frequently wakes
up with a song for the Lord.........The songs
have been "How Great Thou Art", "Blessed
Assurance", and "Great is Thy Faithfulness".......
It brings back memories of rocking and cradling
my daughter and the medley of songs I would sing
to her....."Amazing Grace", "Battle Hymn of the Republic",
and "Onward Christian Soldiers".........Unusual variety,
but it worked for us!
Ephesians 5:19 says "Speak to one another with psalms,
hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your
heart to the Lord."
This morning I was blessed with waking up to a wonderful
husband, a safe night for our children, and another day to
glorify our Father and do His will!
A song upon waking? No....But a song in my heart!..............
"To God Be The Glory" !!!!

This is a very important reminder..........
Not only to and for ourselves,

It is easy to coccoon ourselves and only love, help,
and pray for those we love and who are "like-minded.
.....But Jesus lived a life that lived and breathed love.
He gave of Himself and calls us to do the same.
True love is more than a feeling; it is a consistant
attitude of freely giving ourselves for others.

In reading Ephesians 5:22-24, we are told...........
Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband
is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, His
body, of which He is the Savior. Now as the church submits to
Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
How wonderful that the Lord has blessed us with our husbands!
I am so proud of Steve and the wonderful gifts God has blessed
him with.........as I know you all are proud of your husbands.
The righteous living of our husbands, testifies to the power and
grace of God at work in their lives. Because we respect our husbands,
our character is revealed and is an example to our church families.
Through Christ we can live lives of grace and through submission,
we see the increased unity in the body of Christ and the continual
strengthening in our marriages, family and other believers.

on Christian maturity.....................
The "Juvenilization of Worship" whereas
Reverence to the Lord takes a backseat
to the acceptance and comfort of the
congregation.
Both of these verses come to mind..........

How great is the love the Father has
lavished on us, that we should be
called children of God! And that is
what we are!
Yes, we are His children, but we need
to always show our love and reverence
to our Father through Biblical maturity.............

is to seek answers, advice, and validation
from our family, friends, co-workers, and
even strangers!
We need to always keep in mind
Proverbs 4:13
Take hold of my instructions; don't let them go.
Guard them, for they are the key to life.
Yes, there are some good Christian authors,
yes, there are friends and family who have
our best interest at heart...............
but it is Our Father, His words, and His love
who truly know us, knows our hearts, and by
following Him.........we are truly happy.
When life gets rough, open His book, follow His
words, listen for Him and know.......He loves us!

God knows what is in our hearts!.......He knows we
love Him.....with the anti-Christian world of today, we
need to show the world what is in our hearts! The best
way is to continually be in the Word and "....pray without
ceasing......". 1 Thess 5:16. God works through us and the
world sees! Glory to God in the Highest!

As we head into the secular world...........
God has chosen you and made you His holy people.
He loves you. So always do these things: show mercy
to others, be kind, humble, gentle and patient. Get
along with each other, and forgive each other. If someone
does wrong to you, forgive that person because the Lord
forgave you. Do all these things; but most important, love
each other. Love is what holds you all together in perfect
unity. Let the peace that Christ gives control your thinking,
because you were all called together in one body to have peace.
Always be thankful. Let the teaching of Christ live in you richly.
Use all wisdom to teach and instruct each other by singing psalms,
hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Everything you do or say should be done to obey Jesus your Lord.

To many, that would seem like a tall order...........But as the wives
and mothers we are, being sisters in the Lord, we have a handle on
it........we just need to always be an example of our faith and love in
God and His Word. The earthly world is targeting Christians.....but the
Everlasting World is our goal..........God is our bull's eye...........

Good Monday Morning!
Oh, how I love the rain!.........
It's like the tears of God and His angels,
saddened by the way of His people, washing
the ugliness of sin and renewing our love, thoughts
and purpose with the sunshine He will provide us................
Kind of reminds me of Romans 12:2;
Do not change yourselves to be like the people of
this world, but be changed within by a new way of
thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God
wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing
to Him and what is perfect.
We were given free will..........We can be miserable and
"down" because of the rain or we can be encouraging
and uplifting because of the sunshine God gives within us!

seen double rainbows, but never the end..........

In just a couple of days, it’s Valentines Day!
A day set aside for "Romantic Love".............
How utterly Hallmark!
There should never be a day set aside to show
our loved ones how much they mean to us!

seen God, but if we love each other, God lives
in us, and His love is made perfect in us.

Our awesome Lord showers us with His love
and His gifts continually!
Shouldn't we do the same to our husbands,
children, family and friends?
A smile, a kind word, listening, sharing, their
needs above out own, the gift of laughter, love.........................
Celebrate love! Celebrate God's love above all!

The work we do as wives and mothers
is very important and very much appreciated.....................
As it says in Colossians 3:23-24
In all the work you are doing, work the best
you can. Work as if you were doing it for the
Lord, not for people. Remember that you will
receive your reward from the Lord, which He
promised to His people. You are serving the
Lord Christ.
Keeping that verse in mind gives me a peace
that is "out of this world".

Ahh......Mondays.......
A day of getting back into
the routine of life!
A day we need to be more
vigilant with God's words.
As Psalm 119:133-134 says
Direct my footsteps according to
Your Word; let no sin rule over me.
Redeem me from the oppression of men,
that I may obey Your precepts.
As always, the Bible shows us the most powerful
words at the most appropriate of times.
Today our country celebrates the life, works and
dreams of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
In 1965 my godfather, the late Pastor Thomas Basich,
answered the call of Dr. King and marched for voting
rights in both Selma and Montgomery.
I am so very proud when our brothers and sisters
in Christ, stand up, obey the Words of God and act
on them!
