TEN GUIDELINES FROM GOD

Effective immediately, please be aware that there are changes that YOU need to make in YOUR life! These changes need to be completed so that I may fulfill my promises to you to grant you peace, joy, and happiness in this life.  I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this seems very little to ask of you.  Please follow these 10 simple guidelines:

1.  QUIT WORRYING

Life has dealt you a blow, and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you?  Or, do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way?

2.  PUT IT ON THE LIST

Something needs done or taken care of.  Put it on the list.  No, not YOUR list - put it on MY  to-do-list.  Let Me be the one to take care of the poblem. I can't help you until you turn it over to Me.  And although My to-do-list is long, I am, after all...God.  I can take care of anything you put into My hands.  In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize.

3.  TRUST ME

Once you've given your burdens to Me, quit trying to take them back.  Trust in Me.  Have faith that I will take care of all of your needs, your problems, and your trials.  Problems with the kids?  Put them on My list.  Problems with finances?  Put it on My list.  Problems with your emotional roller-coaster?  For My sake, put it on My list.  I want to help you.  All you have to do is ask!

4.  LEAVE IT ALONE

Don't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here.".  Why do you think you are feeling stronger now?  It's simple - it's because you gave Me your burdens and I'm taking care of them!  I also renew your strength and cover you in My peace.  Don't you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started?  Leave them with Me and forget about them.  Just  let Me do my job.

5.  TALK TO ME

I want you to forget a lot of things.  Forget what was making you crazy.  Forget the worry and the fretting because you know that I'm in control.  But, there's one thing I pray you never forget...please, don't forget to talk to Me - OFTEN!  I love YOU!  I want to hear your voice.  I want you to include Me in on the things going on in your life.  I want to hear you talk about your friends and family.  Prayer is simply you having a conversation with Me.  I want to be your dearest friend, your closest confidant.

6.  HAVE FAITH

I see a lot of things from up here that you can't see from where you are.  Have faith in Me that I know what I am doing.  Trust Me; you wouldn't want the view from My eyes.  I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs.  You only have to trust Me.  Although I have a much bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part.  How hard can trust be?

7.  SHARE

You were taught to share when you were only two years old.  When did you forget?  That rule still applies.  Share with those who are less fortunate than you.  Share your joy with those who need encouragement.  Share your laughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time.  Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry.  Share your faith with those who have none.

8.  BE PATIENT

I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse experiences.  You grow from a child, to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much.  How can you be so impatient then when it takes me a little longer than you expect to handle something on My to-do-list? Trust in My timing, for My timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush.

9.  BE KIND

Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you.  They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all.  Please try to get along for My sake.  I created each of you different in some way. It would be boring if you were all identical. Please, know I love each of your differences.

10.  LOVE YOURSELF

As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself?  You were created by me for one reason only -- to be loved, and to love in return.  I am a God. Love Me - Love your neighbors.  But also love yourself.  It makes My heart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very precious to me.  Don't ever forget!

God Bless Those Blessings In Disguise

            God speaks to us through…

Toilet paper stuck to our shoes,

Runs in stockings,

And all life’s humiliating experiences that keep us laughing at ourselves along the way.

            God speaks to us through…

Long lines,

And traffic jams,

And all the little inconveniences that make us slow down and take a deep breath.

            God speaks to us through…
Flat tires,

Bounced checks,

Broken appliances and broken hearts,

And all the little last straws that make us throw up our hands and say,

                                                 “I give up!”…

So He can finally take over.

God doesn't call the qualified - He qualifies the called!

REMEMBER...God ALWAYS answers prayer in one of three ways:

                    1. YES
                    2. Not yet
                    3. I have something better in mind

And for those of you who don't believe or who aren't quite ready - it's better to live your life as though there IS a God and die only to find out there isn't - than to live your life as though there isn't a God, and die, only to find out there IS!

And REMEBER, the ONLY way to the Father and his kingdom is through Christ - good deeds and great works are not enough!

It takes both faith AND works.

According to James 2:14-26

[14] What does it profit, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has not works? Can his faith save him?

[17] So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.

[18] But some one will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith.

[20] Do you want to be shown, you shallow man, that faith apart from works is barren?

[21] Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar?

[22] You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by works,

[24] You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.

[25] And in the same way was not also Rahab the harlot justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

[26] For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so faith apart from works is dead.

Some additional thoughts on "works" and "faith"...

As paraphrased by one of the main characters in the third book of the "Left Behind" series by Tim LaHay and Jerry B. Jenkins:
"The Bible is clear that all our righteousness are like filthy rags.  There is none righteous, no not one.  We have turned, every one, to his own way.  All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  In the economy of God, we are all worthy only of the punishment of death.  '...Jesus has already paid the penalty.  The work has been done.  Are we to live good lives?  Are we to do the best we can?  Are we to think of others and live in peace?  Of course!  But to earn our salvation?  Scripture is clear that we are saved by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves; not of works, lest anyone should boast.  We live our lives in as righteous a manner as we can in thankful response to that priceless gift of God, our salvation, freely paid for on the cross by Christ himself'."

We need to stop for a moment and think of the significance of this.  Christ died for our sins while we were yet sinners.  The gift is ours, regardless of whether we want it or not.  He has already paid the supreme price - he died for our sins.  All we have to do is accept this gift.  And, in order to come before Him and our Father, all we have to do is acknowledge this and accept his grace through faith.  Believing in God, even believing in Christ, is not enough.  Nor is "living right" and "doing the right thing(s)".  Many misguided soles think that by merely "believing" in the existence of God, "believing" that Jesus was the son of God, and by following the 10 Commandments and "living a good life" with the good outweighing the bad will be enough.  It is NOT!

THE TWO GREATEST COMMANDMENTS:  Mark 12:28-31

[28] And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the first of all?"
[29] Jesus answered, "The first is, `Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one;
[30] and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.'
[31] The second is this, `You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
